Nah es ist schöner wenn nötig schnell online etwas zu suchen oder ein video auf einer Platform zu gucken das nicht mit ner App aufwartet.
Es ist als ob das Internet immer weiter schrumpft und für jedes Funktion darf man auf eine sog. 'versiegelte' Oberfläche tatschen bevor man per Abonnement zur Kasse gebeten wird. Ohne Browser wird einem auch durch 2-3 Apps begrenzt wo man z.B. Musik bezieht wenn man es über die Konsole tut. Klar, es war nie als Medienbasis gedacht wie die PS3, dennoch schade wenn eh schon einer vorhanden ist.

Komisch daß die Xbox darüber nie gehackt wurde. Weder 360 noch One.

Selbst wenn - durch den "Onlinezwang" ist eine gehackte Konsole viel uninteressanter als früher.

Meiner nicht.

Ich benutze die Xbox öfter als Mediaplayer.
Browser, VLC und ein paar andere Apps, und auch den DVB-T(2) Tuner :)
Letzterer geht leider an der XS nicht mehr.


Musik über einen Browser der Konsole beziehen? Wtf. Erklär das bitte.

habe den Browser der PS4 extrem oft genutzt und tue es immernoch.
Leider ist der mittlerweile total veraltet und vieles funktioniert nicht mehr.
Da schalte ich dann lieber die Xbox ein.

Aktuell wünsche ich mir gar nicht viel:

1. Nicht direkt bzw. nur teilw. Firmware - Mehr BC-/Performance-Updates für bekannte PS4-Spiele, besonders aus der Plus-Collection. Framerate-Cap und DRS-Cap freischalten bei Spielen die schon PS4 Pro Anpassungen haben sollte hoffentlich oft mit vergleichsweise wenig Aufwand machbar sein.
2. Freischaltung für unterstützte interne SSDs - obwohl ich es aktuell noch nicht brauche.
3. Besserer Support für externe SSDs/HDDs. Der Support ist derzeit je nach Gerätetyp noch etwas wackelig (An-/Abmelden funktioniert nicht so sicher wie bei der PS4) und die Auslagerung von PS5-Spielen sollte unterstützt werden.
4. HDMI-Update incl . VRR und erhöhte Bandbreite - auch wenn ich die PS5 derzeit nur an einem HDMI 2.0 TV betreibe.
5. Quick-Resume (lohnt aber erst wenn interne SSD-Erweiterung möglich ist, sonst ist das IMO zuviel Platzverschwendung, insbesondere, da es für Netzwerkspiele eh nur Lückenhaft umsetzbar ist.

WebBrowser-Thema:

Klar wäre das manchmal praktisch, aber davon habe ich mich außerhalb von PC/Mac und Mobilgeräten wie iPad/iPhone komplett entwöhnt, da die Nutzererfahrung an Konsolen, Fernseher, Set-Top-Boxen, Fire-TV etc. einfach nur frustrierend ist im Vergleich. Dann besser gar nicht bzw. nur für vordefinierte Funktionalität als eine Notlösung.

Ich finde es immer noch nervig, dass man Games in der Library von dort aus nicht updaten kann. Bei Disc Games, muss man auch erstmal die Disc einlegen, weil das Game sonst nicht im HomeFeed erscheint.

Gibt es eigentlich auch Feedback zum Restmode ob der jetzt stabil läuft, wenn man verrückte Sachen macht wie ne externe SSD für PS4 Games dranzuhängen?

Main features updated in this system software beta version
• In Messages, you can now turn notifications on or off for each of the groups you're in. On the group screen, open the options menu and select Turn Notifications Off.

Other update features
• On the game session details screen, you can now use the Request to Join button to ask the session leader to join their game session. The session leader can then send you an invite to join the game session.
• When playing a game you've hidden, other players will no longer see that you're currently playing that game.
• The Communities feature is no longer available.

How to start:
Once you have redeemed your unique voucher code, you will receive a system notification on your PlayStation®4 console when the 8.50 Beta begins. Performance has improved for System Software updates, so you do not have to restart your PlayStation®4 console after updating.
