At the recent PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco, CA, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and Koei Tecmo announced that Nioh, a dark, samurai-centric action RPG, will be coming to the west exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system. Nioh has been in development under the direction of Kou Shibusawa, Hisashi Koinuma, and Team Ninja.

In Nioh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Known as Yokai, these demons inhabit a number of dangerous locations and lie in wait in the shadows to ambush unsuspecting victims. Players will also face off with other samurai in supernatural sword battles and intense, multi-target engagements offering a level of difficulty that will truly test even the most hardened samurais skills, patience, and strategy.

Offering a deep and original storyline that takes place during the Warring States Period of Japanese history alongside strategic sword-fighting action, Nioh will challenge players in a way that makes every mission and accomplishment feel earned and worthwhile. More information on this comprehensive, action-packed RPG experience will be released in the coming months.

Da steckt glaube ich auch eine interessante Geschichte HINTER dem Spiel. Ich meine war ja als PS3-Titel angekündigt und kommt jetzt auf die 4er. Da muss auch einiges geschehen sein.

Wenn man sich die offiziellen Infos unter dem folgenden Link durchliest, dann kann man sehen, dass das Spiel eine tiefe Story haben wird, und weitere offizielle Infos zum Spiel sollen ja in den nächsten Monaten veröffentlicht werden.

Sorry Game-Player das war von mir suboptimal ausgedrückt. Ich meinte nicht die Story im Spiel, sondern die Story um das Spiel (warum so lange verzögert, warum PS4 wenn die in Japan noch schlechter wegkommt usw.).

A few months ago the game has resurfaced, surprising all fans of action role playing games with its beautiful and dark atmosphere. Following the PlayStation Experience 2015 trailer, not much has been said about the game, but Koei Tecmo President Yoichi Erikawa has recently had the chance to talk about their upcoming action role playing game in a new interview.


In a recent interview with Japanese website 4Gamer, Yoichi Erikawa has talked about the long development time of Ni-Oh and the different iterations of the game. The original vision for the game was very clear in some aspects, like the desire to create a dark fantasy style game set in the Sengoku era featuring the legendary Yokai beasts, but not as much in others, as the team had difficulty in deciding the genre, torn between developing a role playing game or an action game. Following the merger with Tecmo, Koei approached Team Ninja, asking them to develop the game and make it different from the Dynasty Warriors titles Koei is known for. Team Ninja, unfortunately, ended up developing a game that wasn’t too different from their popular Ninja Gaiden games. For this reason, development started from scratch again. The third, and possibly final, iteration of Ni-Oh is the game we have seen in the PlayStation Experience 2015 trailer.
Mr. Erikawa has also talked about how Ni-Oh plays in its current iteration. During development, producers Hisashi Koinuma and Yosuke Hayashi strongly suggested going into a more “hardcore” direction, with Yoichi Erikawa eventually agreeing with them, despite not finding dying over and over very entertaining. For this reason, Mr. Erikawa considers the game as a “Demon’s Souls” type game, something that should make fans of the From Software series quite happy.
Ni-Oh is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and will be released on a yet to be confirmed release date.

They will release the alpha demo from Apritl 26th until May 5th

completing it will also unlock a special DLC chapter in the final game

Nachdem man sich mit dem KS etwas vertraut macht bockt es schon ganz gut Samurai Souls halt
Movement ist nicht so genau leider wie in Souls aber noch ok und die Kamera manchmal..
Aber denke werde es mir bestimmt holen
