Marco Massarutto zu DLC und Release Date
I would like to thank of all you for compliments, support and constructive criticisms. I would like just to add that there will not exist any DLC at Day One. We never mentioned nothing about it, it is not our policy, and just to be clear, the production of SPA Francorchamps has not started yet. So, I find some criticisms a bit unfair, at least because are based just on personal suppositions that sometime are passed of as absolute truth. Assetto Corsa will be released months before any additional content. And, the additional contents are just the prove that is our intention to continue to improve and support Assetto Corsa as long as possible. As you can imagine, the production of contents requires a lot of time, and the additional package mentioned in our last PR will also include some car models. Those package must be considered just like a gift for all those people will continue to support our efforts to give to simracing enthusiasts the best simulation we are able to deliver.
See you on track.

:okay:

The Steam announcement clarifies -and is the reason why- we have not released yet definitive info about the release date and is also one of the reasons why we missed the Spring 2013, but things are much complicate than you can suppose (and sometime is the same for us, we aren't smarter than any other), and sometime things require more than a reasonable amount of time. We are arranging details and technical matters related to Steam integration of our software, while we go on with dev and testing. As you can understand, is not a good idea to release a game that has requested almost 4 years of development in the mid of Summer, but we'll not announce anymore an "expected within"; we'll announce the definitive release date, that will also open the preorder of the game. That, just to get off any doubt, will be released THIS year. Therefore, the delay is not due to any porting of AC on consoles, or to commercial agreements with any publisher to transform Assetto Corsa in an arcade (I've read everything and its opposite...) or any other...conspiracy. :D

I complete my statement here adding that Assetto Corsa will include DLCs, but it is not BASED on DLCs, and of course it will never require any kind of subscription. For us, the function of DLCs is to put more additional contents and expand the simulation without delaying too much the time needed to close the main build. Considering the kind of contents we are creating for our simulation, sometime it's easy to forget that we are a little and indipendent software house, and that we don't have infinite resources (even if, also on this argument, I've read some freak theories:D). Anyway, I believe that about 10 tracks and 25-30 cars in the first release will keep you busy until SPA Francorchamps will be available for download. ;)

Kunos released a new batch of McLaren images. These screenshots have been captured taking advantage of improved lighting effects, with a better calibration of color curves, bloom and hdr effects, with the aim to reach the best result possible with the final release of the game.

The showroom visible in some of these pictures is a feature that will be included in the final version of the game. This is a 3D ambient that uses the game engine and allows you to inspect and admire your vehicle collection while listening to your favorite MP3 music playlist, choosing your favorite car color and/or livery, opening and closing doors, getting in and out of the car, turning on headlights, etc.

The following video is just to be intended as a first look about gameplay, dynamic car behaviour, general appearance, and so on, even if the game is still in development. Hope you like it.

Probably the Pagani Huayra is one of the best choices to show this feature included in Assetto Corsa, thanks to all the different materials that have been used to build this awesome car. This video shows only some basic functionalities of the showroom, however it's possibile to change the sense of rotation and speed and the camera orientation/inclination; it's also possible to open/close doors, to activate dynamic wings and lights, to get in / get out the car, to turn the wheels, to change car color/livery/interiors, and so on. And if you like to listen your favourite music while you enjoy the showroom, a music player interface is also included. And, if you don't like this 3D ambient, you can model your own garage and share it with your friends. ;)

In memory of Enzo Ferrari who passed away 25 years ago on august 14 1988, Kunos Simulazioni posted an in-game screenshot of the Ferrari F40 on track.
Enzo Anselmo Ferrari was born on February 18, 1898 and died on August 14, 1988.
Ferrari grew up in Modena where his father was a manufacturer. He decided he wanted to become a racing driver at a young age, after going to the races in Bologna with his family.
Mr. Ferrari became a motor racing driver and entrepreneur, the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque.
He was often referred to as "il Commendatore" or "il Drake".

From bsimracing: http://www.bsimracing.com/assetto-co...ideogioco-com/

Here is the Google translation: http://translate.google.com.au/trans...assetto-corsa/

"For the moment, we are focused exclusively on Windows PCs, and can not be otherwise as long as the software will not be released and consolidated. But we are watching with great interest and attention to the new console and the new policy of Microsoft and Sony dedicated to independent developers. In due course, we will study the potential calmly."

Kunos Simulazioni has revealed the fifth Ferrari to be part of the 1.0 version of Assetto Corsa – The 312T.

Niki Lauda’s legendary Formula One car from the 1975 F1 season has recently gotten a lot more popular thanks to a prominent role in the “Rush” Formula One movie and Assetto Corsa users will be able to experience the legendary car first hand.

Below are plenty of previews, showing the car in action on historical versions of Silverstone and Monza.

Pre-Order verzögert sich

[EN]
Time to make some clarification about the rumours related to pre-orders. We confirm we worked on this matter in the last two months. When we supposed that the entire process was almost ready to be started, our lead programmer unofficially confirmed on his personal twitter account that pre-orders would start very soon. This was supposed to be true. Sadly, in our Country the laws related to e-commerce are very complicated and inadequate for the digital distribution. At the last minute, just a couple of days before to launch the pre-order, we have been informed about some additional documentation and rules that don't allow us to start the pre-order phase already set. This has nothing to do with Steam nor with the development of the game, it's just burocracy. We understand you can be disappointed about it, but well, you can figure how much we are too. Anyway, if we made any mistake or lack in communication, we apologise for it. Everyone can make mistakes, we are not better than any other.

Now we are working on a different strategy, with the aim to meet -as soon as possible - your wishes and our needs. As soon as we are able to give you more information, we'll update you with more details, through our official channels. Meanwhile, thank you for your kind patience and support.
Particularly unhappy with it, as I had pre-order website, e-commerce pages and everything else ready to go, just to find out at 1 o'clock in the night about that little "font 6px" things that would have severely hurt our business and the AC project.

Back to the drawing board and I guess we need to do something special for all you people patiently waiting.

Dear followers, finally the AC release is very close.

The Assetto Corsa's official site, www.assettocorsa.net is under maintenance: when it will come back online, all the information about the game, its contents and features, the hardware requirements and much more, will be finally available.

More importantly, the release of Assetto Corsa is imminent. Because of some issues (you can read about that here:

https://www.facebook.com/Assetto.Corsa/posts/726358147390506), we have had to change some assets of our strategy, finding the solution that will make you happy and will let the development team complete its job as soon as possible, and at its best.

Assetto Corsa will be available on Steam Early Access very, very soon. The game will cost 34,99 Eur (allowing to save 22% of the retail price!) and will give you access to the beta version, including its updates, plus the final version.

The latest news is that we have decided to include the Spa-Francorchamps track and three additional GT cars (Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3 and Lotus Evora GTC) in the main build of the game, to offer to you the best selection of cars and tracks that we are able to deliver, without any additional cost. We hope you appreciate it. Thanks to this addition, Assetto Corsa will include in total 35 cars, 16 vehicle classes, 11 circuits and 3 additional scenarios. Other extra contents will be added in 2014, in order to guarantee a long-life to this simulation.

The first build of Assetto Corsa includes the main structure of the game and 8 classes of cars for a total number of 11 vehicles, with the aim to guarantee just from the beginning the chance to enjoy the dynamic model of the game racing with different kind of vehicles.

As part of the early access program, an update with new cars, tracks and features will be available every two weeks, adding new contents and improving the existing ones. All the vehicles and tracks will be released in a level of completion close to the final one, with the aim to deliver, starting by the first version, an enjoyable and satisfying simulation, featuring cars and tracks reproduced at their best, with the exception of unknown minor bugs that will be fixed and polished in time for Assetto Corsa 1.0.

During the whole process, the AI, Multiplayer and damage model features will be progressively added in the scheduled time, in order to close in short time the final release, that will include the career mode and other exclusive contents.

Gentlemen, start your modems!
